I'm just gonna paste the synopsis instead of summarizing it myself.
She trespassed into our world, innocent and vulnerable.
She doesn’t belong here, but that won’t stop us from claiming her.
We will lock her away in our mountain cabin, hidden deep in the forest.
She’ll be compelled to obey and serve our darkest desires.
Our beautiful golden-haired captive will learn to love the chains which bind her to us.
Three brothers, each more beastly than the last.
There will be no escape from this twisted fairytale.
For there are three villains in this story.
And in this ending… she is ours.
And here's why I DNFed it.
I stopped reading after Chapter 3 or 4. I'll describe what event turned me off, but it might be a spoiler.
–Spoiler– We're introduced to Goldie when she's getting ready to sell some stuff to customers in the store. She puts up this facade that she's a witch and that's what drives her sales. But the brothers' sister Kit(?) frequents the store and she likes spending time with Goldie, which is bad news to the three brothers because they are very protective and hate that Goldie is lying about being a witch. So they decide to confront her in the store and at first, I could understand one argument they brought up, "You're robbing good people of their money" but I was bothered by how hostile they were, especially with the threat at the end of that chapter. It was something like "Leave Kit alone or we're gonna come after you" and I was grossed out. After this, I didn't want to view these men as Goldie's love interests, it was too aggressive. –Spoiler–
Considering the family's background, I understand why they are overprotective, but Kit's naivete is brought up so much that the narrative and the brothers, I believe, think she has the same maturity as a child. But she just graduated high school! So it's like characterizing her this way softens the brothers' overprotectiveness, but it's still super weird that they went and threatened Goldie instead of first talking to Kit about why Goldie isn't a real witch, and why she should stay inside til they move. Also, from what I've read so far, Goldie doesn't treat Kit badly in the first place, the only issue here is she's lying about being a witch. But these brothers farmed opium and marijuana! I just have an issue with them getting so aggressive over this and they farmed drugs. Oh well.
